Revealing the In Situ Evolution of Tetrahedral NiMoO <sub>4</sub> Micropillar Array for Energy‐Efficient Alkaline Hydrogen Production Assisted by Urea Electrolysis

The great promise of the combination urea oxidation reaction (UOR) with hydrogen evolution (HER) to simultaneously achieve wastewater treatment and production calls for rational design high-performance electrocatalysts. Herein, reconstruction formation Ni2P Mo2O72− on surface can largely enhance alkaline HER activity P-NiMoO4 by on-site electrochemical activation strategy. Systematic experimental results indicate that process enables exposure additional Ni sites adjustment adsorption facilitate kinetics. Ultimately, a highly efficient electrode low overpotential −48.9 mV 10 mA cm−2 is achieved. More importantly, UOR electrolyzer assembled A-P-NiMoO4 as cathode anode exhibits impressive performance small cell voltage 1.363 V cm−2. application fabricated electrodes in practical driven commercial dry battery (1.5 V) demonstrates stable production, making developed strategy promising active electrocatalysts green production.
